Do you want to stamp your mark on the future of mobile computing by improving the performance and end user experience (UX) of future ARM based devices?

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is able to explore the full software stack and learn to grasp of the underlying hardware and processor architecture. You will dive deep into both software and hardware in order to unlock the true performance of today’s and tomorrow’s mobile compute devices.

About the role

You will join a team of motivated and professional engineers helping ARM to maintain its leadership in the mobile market, as well as playing an essential role as ARM competes in emerging consumer markets.

As a proactive team member, you will lead performance investigations based on real world scenarios, which demonstrate the competitiveness of current ARM based devices now and in the future. Through detailed analysis you will determine how software and hardware design decisions affect the final end-user experience.

You should be passionate about performance, tenacious, with a desire to drive through change. You will collaborate with, and influence internal teams, silicon and software partners to ensure that right systems are being built for the future.

Job Requirements

What will I be accountable for?

· Collaborating with internal teams and partners to bring up and stabilize new technology and products

· Designing investigations into real world scenarios and the development of workloads to help identify performance bottlenecks

· Software development, testing and debugging with consumer devices

· Detailed analysis of results with a clear interpretation of statistical data

· Authoring of technical reports for a range of audiences

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

· University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, although other disciplines will also be considered with relevant experience.

· Detailed understanding of modern computing architectures

· Experience benchmarking or optimizing for complex systems

· Good knowledge of embedded C/C++ development and debugging

· Strong Interpersonal and communication skills

· Excellent written and spoken English communication

· Ability to work well as part of a team

· Professional and enthusiastic approach to work

· Pro-active and self-motivating
