Job Description

The Imaging and Vision Group (IVG) produces a range of sophisticated hardware and software image processing products targeted for mobile and embedded devices.

Our product portfolio includes ISP (Image Signal Processor), Display Enhancement and Computer Vision IP.

Our Assertive Display IP is shipped into hundreds of millions of today’s high end mobile devices.

Now we are entering into a new growth phase to provide new technologies and products for existing and new markets and are looking for talented people to join the team.

At IVG you will work with the world’s best companies, making world-class products based on our IP and alongside the best engineers in the world.

We work in small teams, so your ideas will make a difference and you will have the opportunity to drive, change the status quo and ultimately change the world of image processing.

This position works within an exceptional team of software engineers to deliver software for ARM computer vision solutions. The successful candidate will work on a variety of cutting edge projects in the field of computer vision, targeting multiple hardware and software platforms.

Duties will include:

  • Embedded Linux application and kernel development

  • Algorithms implementation

  • Tools development

Job Requirements

Essential Skills Required:

  • Excellent C or C++ programming language

  • Unix/Linux shell scripting

  • Inter-process communication (IPC) and multithreading

  • Network programming

    Desirable skills:

    • Python and/or other scripting/interpreted languages

    • Knowledge of ARM and/or other embedded processors (and microcontrollers)

    • Familiarity with embedded CPUs’ SIMD/DSP extensions (e.g. ARM NEON)

    • GPU programming (preferably Open CL for mobile platforms)

    • Understanding of developing applications for heterogeneous/hybrid systems

      Experience Required:

      • Solid experience of software development within a commercial environment. This position is not suitable for someone with a pure research background

      • Real-time system development (particularly in video, image and signal processing applications)

      • Algorithm development

        Desirable Experience:

      • Previous experience within image processing

      • Experience of Linux/Android kernel development

      • Android native development (e.g. Camera HAL)

      • Linux V4L2
