The Marketing Company Account Manager in Wilmington, Delaware is the supply chain professional and senior business leader with accountability to ensure appropriate levels of product supply and Operations support are provided to meet the needs of the US and Canadian marketing companies. The MCAM will provide the strategic link from Operations to the commercial Therapeutic Areas and Brand teams, ensuring that the supply chain is aligned to help deliver supply to meet the brand strategy to drive top line growth and/or maximize contribution. An MCAM must be able to influence local, regional, and global stakeholders in Operations and advocate for changes to business as usual in support of commercial strategies and initiatives, as well as manage the demand from the commercial organization to ensure that there is a clear value proposition and complexity is minimized. The MCAM represents the US and Canadian markets as warranted on new product launch teams and global supply teams, ensuring that the global supply chain strategies are aligned with the long-term, strategic needs of the market.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The MCAM is the primary link into the Marketing Company (MC), aligning the MC with Operations strategy and ensuring the effective flow of MC communications back into Operations. The MCAM is an expert in demand management, aligning, developing and leveraging AZ commercial strategies, supply resources, and operations capabilities. Working as demand partners to provide business insights, proactively working with Commercial and Finance to balance demand and supply plans and create supply solutions to help achieve AZ’s bold ambition

The MCAM is a key stakeholder of the global Demand Management Integrated Business Planning Process (IBP). The role is a key contributor to all four principles of demand management (planning demand, communicating demand, influencing demand and prioritizing/managing demand), and a stakeholder of the AstraZeneca Demand Management Governance and Demand Excellence processes. The role ensures market intelligence is clearly captured and documented and is also accountable for forecast validation and forecast challenging, customer service level targets and MC collaboration related to supply issue management / product availability.

The MCAM is responsible for supporting the global supply chain planning process including supply chain parameter setting, master data quality and governance, arbitration/allocation setting, business continuity plans and new product launch planning.

Adhering to the AZ Code of Conduct and key global policies such as the Global SHE Policy, Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption Policy and People Policy.

Essential Requirements

  • Supply chain management professional with 10 – 20 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain management, Logistics, Sciences, or related disciplines.
  • Strong leadership, decision making, interpersonal and change management skills
  • Strong, broad understanding of AZ’s global enterprise, ability to develop and influence strategies across complex organizations
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional Operations delivery of solutions to meet customers’ evolving needs.

Desirable Requirements

  • Advanced Degree and/or APICS CSCP
  • Strong knowledge of Pharmaceutical and Lean production supply chain principles, FDA, GMPs.
  • Experience operating in a process-centric environment
  • Experience working with Commercial teams at a strategic level
