Location: Cambridge, UK

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic software engineer to join one of Arm's tool development teams in the Development Solutions Group.

The Development Solutions Group produces market-leading development tools for the Arm architecture, including DS-5 Development Studio, featuring an Eclipse-based IDE for C/C++ developers, a debugger, a performance analyser, system models, and compiler toolchains. See for more information.

We have a vacancy for a graduate software engineer at Arm's Cambridge headquarters. Our team is responsible for two main areas:

  • Development of the DS-5 Debugger, an Arm-proprietary debugger implementation written almost exclusively in Java, and its integration into the Eclipse IDE.
  • Product and release engineering for the overall DS-5 suite.

As a graduate you will be given real project tasks, working alongside and supported by the team's experienced engineers.

Job Requirements

What skills, experience or qualifications do I need?

  • On track to achieve at least a 2.1 in an University course with a significant programming and software engineering element such as Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • A passion for software development, including extra-curricular programming
  • Experience with Java
  • Basic knowledge of C
  • Comfortable communicating within a small team


  • Experience with version control systems
  • Knowledge or experience of:
  • Computer architecture
  • Embedded (bare-metal) systems
