Head of Product, Partner Just Eat


It's our job to understand and serve the Just Eat customer. Who are the people that come to Just Eat to buy their meals online? What do they need? What can we do to make their experiences better? Our Technology department is revolutionising the way people interact with food online every day by exploring new channels, such as voice-controlled ordering and virtual reality. Our team also collaborates with other internal departments to make sure our products and tech are tailor made from top insights and industry expertise.

The opportunity

This fantastic Head of Product opportunity will own and lead Just Eat's global Product Strategy for the Partner side of our Marketplace offering; running multiple product streams and Product Managers. This is a high profile, global role with the opportunity to make a significant impact across the business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for multiple teams in Just Eat's Partner Product area and will play a key part in leading this strategic project. They will be working alongside the Head of Engineering, Head of Delivery and Head of UX to ensure Just Eat builds a scalable and world class range of products to support our restaurant partners and ensure we have the best marketplace in the food tech space.

We are looking for an experienced “Head of” or “Director” who can take our products to the next level – someone who is inspired by the problem space and not just the solution. Our ideal candidate is an original thinker with a highly creative mind, makes data driven product decisions, has excellent communication skills, business acumen and strong vision.

You will need to have track record of successfully delivering large scale products and have demonstrated excellent organisational and leadership skills.

You should be able to think, innovate, constructively challenge the status quo and see the bigger picture, developing and implementing robust strategic plans.

As Head of Product you will drive the vision for your product area, ensuring alignment with our strategy and working cross functionally to achieve the best possible product/market fit for Just Eat. Always keeping focus you will create and execute on a roadmap that is value oriented.

You will lead the product team - developing a strong user centred, data driven, discovery oriented discipline that constantly strives to solve the most meaningful problems. Along with building a great talent pipeline for the future.

You will be able to move between managing the day to day work of the teams to driving innovation in your product area. Zooming in and out from the micro to the macro roadmap decisions, looking for opportunities to drive value at every level.

A strong collaborator, you will build relationships with engineering, design and commercial colleagues. Bringing everyone together to deliver on a single vision.

As a Head of Product you will:

  • Create the vision for your product area

  • Develop short, medium and long term roadmaps that work towards consistently executing on that vision

  • Be commercially focused - aligning your OKRs with commercial colleagues and ensuring that the teams keep focused on the changes that will drive the most value

  • Measure impact ruthlessly - ensuring metrics are meaningful and able to be influenced by product. Understanding that vanity metrics are not desirable

  • Be user centred through a strong discovery framework - working closely with your Head of UX&D to ensure best practice focused on speed and depth of insight

  • Create a learning culture - developing best practice around experimentation and ensuring no change goes out without understanding the true impact

  • Focus on speed of getting to market - looking for the most efficient route for changes to make their way into the market

  • Be collaborative - able to bring different disciplines and cultures together in order to achieve an outcome. Able to work through rather than foster politics

  • Build a strong team - focusing on the future by creating a great talent pipeline through recruitment, onboarding and ongoing coaching and performance management

Required skills and experience
  • Exceptional understanding and practical experience of product management discipline - discovery, agile development,

  • Demonstrable experience of leading a consumer centric and customer experience focus. Designing digital products that delight customers.

  • The ability to translate a business challenge into a digital product solution

  • Able to operate with significant autonomy to balance the need for success in the local markets and alignment to the larger Just Eat product strategy.

  • Experience managing a team of 3+ people required

  • Be a strong leader and communicator - you come across as a competent and inspiring people manager who is adept at hiring talent and able to motivate , lead, develop and empower people

  • Highly effective at cross-functional stakeholder management

  • Adept at implementing product design frameworks and cross functional team workflows

  • Able to bring strategic and big picture thinking, setting a clear vision and plan, whilst also being hands on and close to the detail. Will bring the right balance of strategy versus implementation needed in a high growth environment
