Job Description:

Cyber Catastrophe Research Analyst - 12 months Fixed Term

Hiscox has been writing cyber insurance since 1999, and we have grown a substantial book of business to date. The cyber market is due to grow exponentially over the coming years, and we want to make the most of the opportunity by growing our cyber team. This is your opportunity to become part of it - and help influence and shape our cyber offering across the globe. This role sits in the Group Underwriting Team which will work very closely with our Cyber Clear Center (C3), our centre of cyber excellence.

The role

The role sits with the Group Cyber and Casualty Exposure Management Team. The role of the team is to measure, monitor and communicate the risk the business assumes from underwriting all lines of business due to Cyber Catastrophes (as well Liability Catastrophes). To do this we: design, build, calibrate, deploy and run scenarios that help us measure this risk.

We’re a small team driving big decisions. This is a new function (not just to Hiscox, but arguably the Industry) therefore we’re improvising, dealing with ambiguity and driving results and change.

We are looking for a dynamic, numerate person to continue to shape how we think about Cyber Catastrophes and how they impact our Clients and the losses they may pass on to us.

This is Maternity Leave cover, so it’s a fixed term role, but if you don’t learn masses and set yourself up for new opportunities the team will eat its collective hat…

What you’ll be doing

The role is there to design, build and calibrate our Cyber Scenarios. You’ll be looking at the current models we have and improving them – as well as building new scenarios. This will involve:
